Community Tenants Association Endorses Jane Kim for Mayor

The Community Tenants Association endorsed Jane Kim for Mayor at its march and rally in Portsmouth Square earlier this week.

“The Community Tenants Association works so hard for tenants across our city. I am honored that they are endorsing my campaign for mayor and that they’ve stood by me since the beginning when they supported my first School Board race,” said Kim. “The organization of our elders tirelessly fights for affordable housing and tenant protections in San Francisco. And most of all, they inspire us all to do more to help our most vulnerable populations.”

“We are proud to support Jane Kim for Mayor. She is the advocate our city needs to improve the lives of our low-income residents,” said Wing Hoo Leung, president of Community Tenants Association. “She has worked to pass the boldest tenant protections and counter profit-incentivized evictions. We can count on Jane to always stand up for us and we are looking forward to working with her as Mayor.”

The Community Tenants Association’s endorsement adds to a growing list of elected officials, community members and organizations supporting Kim for Mayor including the SF Tenants Union, San Francisco Supervisor Sandra Lee Fewer, founder of the Chinatown Community Development Center Gordon Chin* and Executive Director of Self-Help for the Elderly Anni Chung*.

The Community Tenants Association is San Francisco’s largest community-based tenants group representing low-income tenants. The Community Tenants Association has over 1,700 members.
