Randomness

From Rosa Wong-Chie, lead youth coordinator:

Boy, Dave (the Field Coordinator) sure can give a great inspirational speech to get us going with the campaign! After his little speech, Diana, Jack and I (other youth coordinators) were like.. oh man, we gotta get rolling!!! So we started to call people up on our way back to Berkeley. What’s funny was that Jack was calling people to volunteer while he was driving. So we missed or almost missed our exits.

I can’t wait til we do the walk this weekend. It is actually going to be my first time. But I can’t wait cuz I love doing these kinds of things. You know, talking to people and persuading them. Perhaps my psychology courses will come in handy as well. The techniques of manipulation and persuasion. Nah, I probably need more education to be an expert on it. But yah, helping Jane out with her campaign is really fun as well as nerve wrecking. I am sure it must be 10 times worse for Jane. So far, we got like 20 people from our network to go volunteer, but we definitely need more people than that. I really hope Jane wins. All my friends seem to think so. It is just too bad most of my friends are too young to vote or not politically active enough to care. Perhaps Jane will change their view once she becomes a school board member??? Perhaps.

Diana Pang and Jack Choi are also Youth Coordinators for Jane’s campaign. They both graduated from Thurgood Marshall HS, 2002. Dave is a community organizer ande Lincoln HS graduate, 1996.
