Youth TV
Last year, several youth leaders in my former program, Adopt-An-Alleyway Youth Empowerment Project at Chinatown CDC, participated in a documentary-making class where they filmed and edited short films (this was a two-year series of classes which we offered at AAA).
This is one of the short films, documenting UNITE HERE’s Local 2 Hotel Protest on August 31, 2006. Directed by Calvin Yan.
The video also documents my first arrest on charges of civil disobedience along with Dave Ho and Reverend Norman Fong (my former boss and no, it was definitely NOT his first time getting arrested). The charges were, of course, dropped. No handcuffs or anything.
