I endorse Obama
Yes, the primaries are around the corner and yes, I did endorse! I want to send my love to all my friends who are working fiercely through the holidays (without needed rest and family love) for the primaries which creep up earlier and earlier each election cycle. This is a bit of delayed posting, by perhaps 2 or 3 weeks. December was such a busy month!

San Francisco, CA – The Obama Campaign today announced the endorsement of San Francisco Board of Education Commissioner Jane Kim, and named her to the “California Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Leadership Council.”
“I am supporting Obama because I believe that we need new leaders at the national level who understand the needs of local communities—Obama began as a community organizer and civil rights lawyer and has always championed the importance of accessible and quality education. His reform proposals would create healthier public schools by rewarding quality teachers and encouraging comprehensive standards for students.”
Kim is currently the youngest elected official and first Korean American elected in San Francisco.
“I am excited and honored that Jane is supporting our efforts to change the way politics is done in America,” said Obama. “Jane embodies the type of leader for a new generation and is a great example of change we can believe in.”
Senator Barack Obama has worked tirelessly to improve the educational opportunities of AAPIs and their families and communities. Barack Obama has been a longtime supporter of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act, which would allow states to provide in-state college tuition to undocumented students who grew up in the United States. Barack Obama is a cosponsor of the DREAM Act and wants to see it become law so every child can have access to a quality, affordable education.
Barack has committed to making college more affordable. The very first bill Barack Obama introduced in the U.S. Senate was a bill to help make college more affordable by increasing the maximum Pell Grant amount to $5,100. Barack Obama will also eliminate wasteful subsidies to private banks under the federal student loan program. Reforming this program will save taxpayers nearly $6 billion dollars each year – money that Obama will direct to fund need-based grants, such as the Pell Grant.
# # #My quote is a bit cheesy, but how cool is it to have quote from Obama with your name in it? (Even if he didn’t write it!)
