gratitude

First, I must thank a few incredible people- Dave Ho, JEP, Wendell Lin, Sin Yen Ling, and Dean Matsueda for leading this campaign, AGAIN. I am truly fortunate to work with some of the most incredible minds and HEARTS on this campaign.

Campaigns are only as good as the people working on it. From policy folks, Glenn Fajardo and Peggy Lee, to events and fundraising, Carolyn Tran, judy b., Haydee Diaz, Debbie Sheen, Cat Rauschuber, April Veneracion, Mindy Schweitzer, to communications extraordinaire, Diana Pang, we truly hit the ground running.

And the campaign would not reach the most voters of any school board campaign if it was not for the physical labor of many people. I want to recognize our hardest working (or walking) volunteers: Connie Zhang, Darwin Yu, Brian Ng, Alan Jung, Angelina Yu, Jeremiah Jeffries and Lindsay Imai who came out EVERY weekend (often twice!). And of course, I have to give a shout out for the youth leaders of AAA!

Most of the names that I listed above are 35 and under (a great proportion are 22 and under), are new to the candidate campaign world, and are incredible dedicated to and passionate about making change for our communities. Passion is one trait that our campaign was NOT lacking.

Despite getting more major endorsements this year which I am proud to have nabbed, I know I would not have gotten this support if it had not been for our amazing field campaign. The field of 2004 won me the support that I got this year, that took me, the youngest candidate/non-incumbent who had not fundraised the most dollars, over the top to first place.

I feel fortunate that these are the people that I owe the most to and that these individuals- students, youth leaders, non-profit community organizers, teachers, are the people that I will be accountable to.

Thank you all for supporting my run in 2004 and this year again. I am really proud of both campaigns and hope to serve you well (actually more than well!) the next four years.

Much love also to the League of Pissed Off Voters, the Chris Daly campaign, and the United Playas. And of course, my lovely and supportive blogging roommate, Min Jung Kim.
