live art, voicemail greetings and spaghetti monsters
Thank you to everyone that came out to Art for Jane on Saturday. Lucky buyers got a chance to buy Lunch with Jeff Adachi, a Humorous Voicemail Greeting by Tom Ammiano, Collage by Matt Gonzalez and even a chocolate pound cake baked by Chris Daly! Plus some beautiful artwork including paintings, photography, and spaghetti monsters.
Nguyen Qui Duc, departing host of Pacific Time on KQED, writer, mentor extraordinaire and visual artist had his last reading that night before he departs for Vietnam on Tuesday. We are going to miss you so much Duc.

Thank you Carolyn, Mindy, Jane D., Cat, and judy b. for organizing this fabulous event. And much love to Jack Choi (former student and Thurgood Marshall grad 2002), Debra Walker, Goh Nakamura, DJ Spearit and Vetran* for mcing and performing and all the many artists that donated their artwork for this campaign!
Thanks also to super volunteers Lindsay Imai, Dave Ho, Mateo Burtch and Sin Yen Ling.
Lindsay started the day with me at 10am at Daly’s visibility kick off! We then fliered and talked to voters on Haight and Ashbury, met with the Potrero Hill Parent’s Association, and then stopped by a BBQ in the Castro. We ended our day at 11:30pm cleaning up after the Art Auction.
