Field all over again...
This weekend, we launched our Field Campaign again. The field is the heart and soul of this campaign. One, it is our primary way to reach over 90,000 voters in San Francisco. Second, the people closest to my heart, are the minds and legs behind this amazingly hard working and now well recognized field campaign.
We had 60 volunteers come out to drop my brand spanking new newsletters. The newsletter outlines my platform which you can view HERE.
This weekend, we walked District 8 (Castro, Noe Valley, Haight-Ashbury Hills)- one of the hardest districts to walk- lots of steep hills and winding roads. This district also has one of the highest voter turnouts in San Francisco. So go District 8 for being so civic-ly engaged!
To prepare for this big weekend, my car made two trips to the printer shop on Friday and carried close to 4,000 pounds of newsletters!
That night, my students (former and current) came over after Chinatown Community Development Center’s 29th Anniversary Dinner to watch movies and eat late night snacks. Several of them ended up sleeping over since we were all walking the next day together. I woke up the next morning to 7 students asleep on the couches, aeromattresses and chairs. In anticipation of a big day, I started cooking eggs, bacon and hotlinks (protein!) for everyone.
We were lucky to have GREAT weather this weekend. It was actually probably a little too warm for all the uphill walking. So THANK YOU to all the volunteers that came out!
